A Note on Opera: What exactly is “bel canto?”

So you’ve heard about our opera classes, right?

And you’re kind of interested in joining in, right?

But you want to know a little bit more about them and if they’ll suit you, right?

Well, look no more! We’ve got the perfect opera taster for you:

bel canto

A Note on Opera: What Exactly is “bel canto?” will tell you all you need to know.

It’s more, much more, than sopranos going mad to some of the most beautiful melodies ever penned, and we plan to tell you exactly how.

This taster session is the third in the series, giving you the chance to see how this whole thing works. We’ll explore this remarkable era’s history, music, and unexpected influence on the German opera tradition.

And don’t worry on the language front, it’s all taught in English by David Kerr, oh and no pre-existing knowledge of music or opera is required so there are no worries on that front either!

So, if you’re interested, here’s the deal:

When: Tuesday, July 29, 2014, 6:00-8:45pm
Where: Goethe-Zentrum Atlanta
Admission: $35 for members, $40 for non-members

If you think it’s something you’d like to do and you want to sign up, you can register by clicking here.

We look forward to seeing you there!
