IN PICTURES: Word on Art: German Photographers of the 20th and 21st Centuries
Last week, 20 of our members and donors were given exclusive access to some German photography at the High Museum of Art as part of our Word on Art series. Our members gathered at the High Museum, where they were met by Brett Abbott, Keough Family Curator of Photography & Head of Collections, High Museum of Art in Atlanta.
Members had an opportunity to view a new work by Thomas Struth. Mr. Abbott also brought works out of archives by Candida Höfer, Carl Christian Heinrich Kühn, Hans Christian Schink, August Sander and Ilse Bing, among others.
After the museum, we will head to the Table 1280 restaurant for a drink in the bar hosted by the Goethe-Zentrum Atlanta.
It was a great event with those who attended enjoying and appreciating the unique opportunity to see some of the best German photography of our day along with the expert commentary by Brett Abbott.
