Intern

Interns are a vital part of the Goethe-Zentrum Atlanta, they assist massively in the day-to-day running of the center, helping out at our events, taking phone calls, assisting with students – the list is endless!

An internship at the Goethe-Zentrum is a fantastic opportunity for any college or university student and a massive asset for your résumé. It will give you a taste of the working world in another country helping you to gain insights into the organization and cultural events, as well as our German language courses and administrative tasks.

General Internship Requirements

  • German nationality and/or very good German language skills
  • a valid permit of residence
  • at least 3 semesters of university education

What you will do:

Cultural Management

This will see you assisting the German, European and US artists and scholars who are working with the Goethe-Zentrum Atlanta during your internship. We would require you to familiarize yourself quickly with these subjects, and be willing to inform others about the programs and events taking place at the center.

Reception and Events

Students who are interested in interning with us are expected to work at the front desk as well as at our events. Every visitor should get an excellent first impression of the Goethe-Zentrum Atlanta as soon as they walk into the building – this starts with the front desk. The Goethe-Zentrum’s entrance area serves virtually as our “business card” where we welcome our visitors and introduce them to our mission. As an intern, you will also get involved in the preparation, execution, and follow-up of our events.

Internship Duration:

Internships usually last between 10 and 12 weeks.

Internship Compensation:

Unfortunately, we are not able to offer a compensated internship. Therefore, we would like to ask our prospective interns to arrange funding well in advance of their time here.
