Did you know the fountain outside Colony Square where we’re located was actually designed by a German? That’s right, it’s an original piece of artwork by Steffen Thomas! So, when the Steffen Thomas Museum of Art joined forces with the City of Atlanta Office of Cultural Affairs to showcase his work, we obviously wanted to be a part of it – some of his work is literally on our doorstep!

Fall is a busy season here at the Goethe-Zentrum Atlanta and we have events galore! With everything from art exhibits, language breakfasts, author readings and movie screenings, we always have something going on. So, we thought we’d give you a little round-up of our fall events – some pictures of those that have already taken place and a sneak peek into what’s still to come!
“What a Palace! Berlin Palace-Humboldt Forum” Exhibition Opening
Our fall season kicked off when we became the first in the United States to host the travelling exhibit on the restoration of the Berlin Palace which will house the Humboldt Forum, a cultural center of national and international distinction in the heart of Berlin.

Our ‘A Word on Art’ series continued last week with a trip to Emory University to check out some rare original works by Martin Luther.
15 select Goethe-Zentrum Atlanta members and supporters were given this special opportunity to view and hear a presentation about a collection of rare, original works by Martin Luther and other Reformation theologians.
